GULF SOUTH AGROFORESTRY WORKSHOP
APRIL 7-10, 1999

PURPOSE: Create a Gulf South network of Land Use Management Professionals and Private Land Use Practitioners to facilitate the development and transfer of agroforestry technology. The workshop will be presented in two Sessions. Session I is designed to familiarize Professionals and Practitioners with the basic agroforestry practices and the economic and environmental benefits for rural communities. Session II is designed to provide the management concepts for developing timber-pastures (Silvopastures) that can increase the productivity and value of small farms.

1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Field Tour: Implementation of Alley Cropping, Riparian Buffers, and Silvopasture practices on the Hill Farm Research Station

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Ruston, Louisiana is on Interstate 10 between Shreveport and Monroe, Louisiana about 270 miles east of Dallas, Texas and 140 miles west of Jackson, Mississippi. Air travel arrangements can be made to either Shreveport or Monroe, Louisiana. The Shreveport airport is about 70 miles west of Ruston and the Monroe airport is about 30 east of Ruston.
