Louisiana House -Home and Landscape Center will include:
  • a permanent, evolving showcase house and yard
  • acres of educational landscape exhibits
  • a teaching center and exhibit space
  • educational outreach to consumers, professionals, and youth

that address national and Louisiana challenges, including:
  • national energy independence  
  • hurricanes and floods  
  • pollution prevention
  • waste management
  • asthma, mold, and other indoor air hazards
  • barriers to technology transfer
  • unstable fuel costs  
  • Formosan subterranean termites
  • warm, humid climate
  • threatened drinking water supplies
  • aging population  
  • economic vitality  

It will include a range of practical and proven solutions that integrate the LaHouse criteria, from no-cost to higher end products and systems for both new and existing homes. It will be a hub of ongoing educational outreach through distance education and a network of Extension educators on site and in all 64 parishes of Louisiana.
