TRAVEL INFORMATION
ACE Leadership Institute Midyear Meeting
February 6–9, 2008
The Institute’s midyear session will be held at Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree in Peachtree City, Georgia. Set on 38 wooded acres less than 25 miles south of Atlanta, it is a meticulously managed facility with attractive meeting spaces, award-winning dining, comfortable lodging, and access to a wide variety of on-site recreation and fitness facilities. For further details, see http://www.atlanta.dolce.com.
You will not need to register individually with the conference center. Check-in time will be 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 6. Dinner will be provided at 6:30 pm. Institute sessions will begin that evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and will wrap up right before the noon meal on Saturday, February 9.
Saturday lunch will be provided, but box lunches can be requested by those who must leave promptly for the airport. Please be sure to arrange your transportation in such a way that you will not need to arrive late or leave early so you can fully participate in all sessions.
We will provide free round-trip transportation to Atlanta‘s Hartsfield International Airport to as many participants as possible. If you wish to take advantage of that service, please send your confirmed arrival and departure dates and times to tomk@ext.msstate.edu by February 1.
If conflicting schedules make it impossible to connect with your flights, we will notify you well in advance. In that case, Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree offers shuttle transportation from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm for $30 each way. Reservations are required 72 hours in advance of arrival; see http://www.atlanta.dolce.com for details.
As discussed at the Albuquerque session, sleeping rooms in the residential lodges will be double occupancy unless you plan to bring a very young infant, in which case please get in touch for special accommodations. The sleeping rooms are set up for comfortable double occupancy with two double beds, desks, wired high-speed Internet service, sitting area, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, coffeemaker, and cable television. Wireless Internet is available in the common areas of the buildings. If you have a preference of roommate, please contact that person to confirm. Both individuals should then send notification to tomk@ext.msstate.edu by November 30.
Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree is not equipped to register or bill individual guests, so all charges will be paid from an Institute account and your department or office will in turn be invoiced a single amount for your share of the charges. That amount will include three nights’ lodging, all meals, continuous breaks, meeting space, A/V equipment, and use of recreational facilities on the grounds at an average daily rate of $207 plus tax, comparable to lodging and meals at downtown conference hotels.
Your invoice, to be sent out in January, will list the total cost as a meeting registration fee unless your accounting office requires charges to be detailed. If an itemized invoice is needed, please notify tomk@ext.msstate.edu as soon as you receive the invoice and a revised version will be prepared.
If you need additional information, special meals, or other arrangements, please write to tomk@ext.msstate.edu or call (662) 325-1716. I look forward to seeing you at Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree!
Travel to and from the meeting sites, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.
