Debra B. Reed, PhD, RD, LD

Debra B. Reed has B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas Tech University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas School of Public Health (UTSPH). She is a registered and licensed dietitian. Dr. Reed has been a faculty member in community nutrition at UTSPH, Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and Louisiana State University.

She is currently an Assistant Professor and Nutrition Specialist with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, Texas A & M University where she serves as Coordinator for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. Dr. Reed's research has focused on assessing barriers to calcium intake in low-income mothers in the US and on assessing food insecurity and nutritional issues in Honduras.
