LaPorte, MS, LDN, RD
Melanie has served as an Education Program Manager with the
Division of Nutrition Assistance, Louisiana Department of Education
for the past nine years. She provides nutrition education materials
and information to participants of USDA’s Child Nutrition
Programs, such as school food service managers, Head Start employees
and Family Day Care Homes sponsors. Prior to this position, she
was a school food service manager for seven years in East Baton
Rouge Parish. Melanie is married and has two daughters, Rachel
9 and Rebecca 6.
