Dr. Elizabeth S. Reames, Specialist (Nutrition), PhD, RD, LDN

Beth Reames is a nutrition and food safety specialist with the LSU AgCenter Family and Consumer Sciences Department and is responsible for planning and implementing programs in nutrition and food safety. Her major emphases include obesity, diabetes and food safety. 

She currently serves on the Louisiana Council on Obesity Prevention and Management’s Obesity Awareness subcommittee. She received her degrees from LSU: B.S., M.S., Ed.D. and Ph.D. She is also a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist, and instructor for the National Restaurant Association ServeSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification Course. She was employed as a public health nutritionist with the Office of Public Health prior to her employment with the LSU AgCenter. She has served as president of the Louisiana Dietetic Association and as Chairman of the Louisiana State Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition.
